Artificial Intelligence has become a pervasive phenomenon and shapes large parts of society, from everyday life and education to the workplace. At the same time, it is increasingly influencing politics and the public discourse.
As Sweden prepares for the general election in autumn 2026, AI is reshaping the way political parties communicate, how messages reach voters, and how public opinion is formed. Several politicians have already faced criticism for careless use of the technology, while the parties themselves are increasingly integrating AI into their campaigns. Moderaterna, one of Sweden’s largest political parties, for example, is among the first to have produced a campaign film solely using AI. This demonstrates how the landscape of political communication has changed in recent years.
The webinar will focus on the societal and strategic impact of AI, not the technical details. Generative AI tools influence how voters perceive political messages and how campaigns plan their strategies, while also raising broader questions about transparency, legitimacy, and trust in democratic processes.
The webinar will feature Emma Fahlstedt, Business Area Manager at Consid Sweden, with 20 years of experience as a digital strategist and communications professional. With a background in politics and election campaigns, she will share insights into how AI is shaping political communication, campaign strategy, and voter trust from a macro-level and a societal perspective.
The presentation will be followed by an open Q&A and discussion.
